Is this a new game?

I was intrigued to receive this email from Zipvit suggesting that, as you can see towards the bottom, I should "Click her to order". Is this a new game, might it be viewed as a little sexist? By the way, nothing wrong with their products or prices

Research has suggested that omega-3s, as part of a balanced diet, support the health of both brain and body. A study in  Nutrition Journal  adds to this science and finds that middle-aged and older people who took a daily fish oil supplement improved brain performance and lowered risk factors for chronic disease. Their oatcakes are there

There are more than a few who cannot see the difference between there and their . . . here is another. Love their oatcakes but . . .

"...posted will arrive at there postal address . . . "

Has anyone spotted my (deliberate) spelling error on this blog?

Their there

" have mutual directors who with there staff have a wide range of experience in "

I guess that their staff is there . . .

Extreamely poor spelling!

" It is a very straight car and is solid underneath. The car drives very well, pulls straight and the engine is extreamily strong."

Lovely classic Jaguar, and this only demonstrates the importance of checking the smelling and tupos - or spelling and typos

Half board ski?

7 Nights in La Rosiere – Half-Board Ski Stay Worth £297pp, Now £199pp – 33% Off

OK, this is definitely not an error but I include it as I smile at the vision of someone careering down a mountain with half skis - or a half snow board!

That is a very long way on a wire . . .

Man on Wire, showing on BBC4 11/10/2012, published in Times (06/10/2012)

“James Marsh’s extraordinary documentary explores the preparation for the event … as well as detailing Petit’s previous walks between the towers of Notre Dame and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Does unslightly mean it is a lot?

"...The rules would apply as long as the house is not in a conservation area.

Building regulations will still have to be followed so that certain standards are met but the fear is relaxing the planning rules will cause a free-for-all with unslightly extensions springing up in back gardens across the country.

It is one of the concerns Ruth Reed, from the Royal Institute of British Architects, will be raising during the consultation...."

Autocorrect errors - typos

OK, I know it isn't a spelling error - but it is on here for two reasons:

1) Quite possible that a lot of errors on websites are caused by people not checking the autocorrect results.

2) It made me laugh - I hope it brings a smile to your face too.

Wine at that price has to be good!

OK, it isn't a spelling error . . .

£75 for a two-night Scarborough break for two including a bottle of wine worth up to £311.80 at The Brooklands Hotel – save up to 76% on a seaside getaway

http://www.buyometric.co.uk/offer_44662

Sure to be a good deal but I doubt the wine will be worth more than £300!

Used to be that you could rely on the BBC for language and spelling . . .

Oh dear!  Of coarse(!), it could be that the course cut pate could refer to something caught or prepared during coursing or maybe on a course.  At least there is consistency - the error is repeated.

Spread pastry wth layer of course cut pate, (do not spread completely up to edge) repeat with cooled mushrooms

I am sure her skill is better than the spelling shown here

Dr Gibbons did her undergraduate studies at Cambridge University and her clincial training at Edinburgh University. She spent several years working in Glasgow and Edinburgh in general internal medicine and infectious diesases and took some time out to do the tropical medicine diploma at Liverpool University. She did her general practice training and worked as a GP for several years Edinbugh.

In addition to her interests in internal medicine and infectious diseases Dr Gibbons has an interest in medical education and works as an Associate Lecturer at the Penisula Medical School.

Resistence to correct spelling

This is one thing that poor old Silvio cannot be blamed for - he did not write the article so the resistence to the correct spelling of resistance is hardly his fault!

"The Cabinet agreed on the measures on Friday despite fierce resistence from local government officials who claimed they were "socially unjust".
Prime minister Silvio Berlusconi said the measures were fair and responded to requests from the European Central Bank (ECB).

It seems rioters are even more expensive than we had thought!

Once again, not really a spelling error but . . . .

Two Age UK ambulances petrol bombed by rioters costing £45,000

Now, we really abhor this dreadful conduct but suspect that the rioters are worth less than 1p each, not £45,000 - in fact, they are probably worthless.

Nothing like good spelling

Yes, you are right, it is nothing like good spelling. In fact this is NOT from a website, it was from an email, but I could not resist it!

"i would like to order the iteam below, but before i perches i would like further information. thank you"

Yes, I could have highlighted a few non capitalisations.

Lightning might do lightening

While there is no definitive verdict on what caused the crash, preliminary reports suggest that an electronic signalling system failed to warn one high-speed train that another, which had been struck by lightening, had broken down in its path.

A sudden thought maybe?

A tragedy that there should be a high speed train crash in China but also sad that the FT does not proofread with care.

"We are also is the only lawn care franchise business"

Yes, you is are.

At the bottom of the page and, it would appear, not at the top of the class for careful checking

Well done - the error can no longer be seen - good luck with your improved website

Good intentions, probably great food - but more attention to detail needed!

"Our Chefs have hunted high and low but never too far away the bring the region's hidden food secrets to your table".
Probably should read "Our Chefs have hunted high and low but never too far away to bring the region's hidden food secrets to your table"

He's got You in both but ommitted your economy with the voracitude.

This is actually from a twitter post, but it does score highly for packing in errors and nonsense so I just could not resist sharing it with you.
It is as if a toddler has found a dictionary and does not quite know what to do with it.
 Forward with HS2
He's got You in both but ommitted your economy with the voracitude.

That is where it came from and I neither know, nor care, where it goes! I have no idea what he is talking about but then again it is obvious that nor does he! If you are interested in the HS2 arguments, please visit: http://againsths2.blogspot.com/

Unemployed to recieve a rocket

Is the rocket because they know not how to spell?
It used to be "'i' before 'e' except after 'c'"

http://viciousmalcious.blogspot.com/2011/07/unemployed-to-recieve-rocket.html

Actually, it is hard to read many lines without spotting more errors.
Some of you may find some of the content of the site offensive - if in doubt, please do not click. You can add your vote on whether or not it should be removed - find it to the right.

Growth, groat or growt?

  • reduces grass top growt

Maybe there was difficulty in saying 'H' properly so they decided to give it a miss.

    Bare to be different!

"style and taste dictators?  Bare to be different - " well, whilst it is probable that being bare would be different it is unlikely that this is what was meant!

Ikea bargain prices but reduction on this item not staggering!

Ikea do have excellent products and prices (the writer's opinion) but maybe the offer below has not been expressed as intended.  66 pence for 4 knives is really cheap BUT a reduction from 66p to 66p is maybe not that startling!
